The intern program was fairly new, so the guidelines weren't fully set. Things were a bit messy. Work was great though, pushed to production on my 2nd day. Was able to have control over the design and implementation of features. Many of my features also went to production, which was cool to see.

Strong mentorship, clear project ownership (for my team at least), and feeling like a real engineer rather than just an intern. Ramping up quickly on a large existing codebase and understanding how services interact at scale was the challenging part. Some advice is to definitely ask questions early and set up regular check-ins with your mentor to stay on track and aligned.
